The World Dance Collective Fundraiser
Help Asha World Dancers create a studio HOME for all our World Dancers in Reno, Nevada. Our goal is to create a community space accessible to everyBODY. We’re located downtown in the West Street Market. All of our classes will be affordable—$10 to $12 for drop-ins—and we’re offering several classes on a donation-only model, to ensure everyone in our community can enjoy and benefit from dance and movement.
Your contributions will help us bring this much-needed, radically-inclusive resource to downtown Reno.
We have the space now we just to outfit it and maintain it! We will have to buy and install mirrors, floors, rent, utilities, and the ability to compensate our teachers. We love our community and believe every body of every size, shape, age, ability, and economic situation deserves to have dance in their lives!
Let's UNITE through DANCE!
Who IS Asha? We are a group of dancers who share a passion for World Dance Fusion. Formed in 1997 after meeting in a belly dance course at the local community college, in 2001, Asha obtained non-profit
status in order to fund yearly free multicultural, family orientated events in the
Truckee Meadows area. Seventeen years and several new dance sisters
and a dance brother later, they are still the best of friends.
This award winning dance company fuses several folkloric dance styles including Indian, Moroccan, Persian, Turkish, Egyptian, African influences and American Tribal and Cabaret, with Middle Eastern Dance.
They are proud to present their own style of World Fusion Belly Dance to their audiences.
Take a look and enjoy!
